Hello there! I’m Nathalie the maker behind Knitalie Co.  Welcome to my little corner of the internet where you’ll find modern and cozy knitting and crochet patterns fit for everyday life along with tips and tricks for makers and much more yarn-y goodness!

I’ve always had a passion for crafting which I owe mainly to my mom and my grandma with whom I’ve been crafting for as long as I can remember. 

Although my mom tried to teach me to knit multiple times throughout my childhood, it never clicked for me. In 2012, as a 22-year-old in search of a new hobby, I decided to try crochet. With the help of a two-hour in-person class, many online videos, and a little bit of practice, I slowly got the hang of things. I crocheted exclusively for four years before deciding to give knitting another try and finally it made sense to me. 

Knitalie Co. came about in 2018 through social media as a way connect with like-minded individuals and partake in this new community I’d just discovered. I started posting about my makes and my crochet temperature blanket was so well received that I eventually found myself motivated to write up the pattern to help all of those asking for more information.

I created more patterns from scratch in the following years, but imposter syndrome kept me from doing anything with them. In 2022, I started selling my makes at local markets and created the Drop a Stitch podcast with my friend Daniella. I find so much joy in sharing about this craft which led to a desire to find ways to do just that even more regularly hence this blog which reflects my journey thus far. I hope you find inspiration and enjoyment in being part of it.

Beyond blogging, you’ll find me taking care of my 4-month-old son, cuddling my cat, reading, renovating/doing various projects around the house, enjoying nature or playing hockey. I have a deep love for knitting and crochet as I believe that it is the perfect craft for any age. I’m passionate about creating patterns that can actually sustain everyday life and add some coziness to your day and I hope to share that passion with you through my blog.
