If I told anyone who knows me that I’d be designing a spider plushie, they’d laugh out loud and wouldn’t believe me. You see, in real life, I hate spiders… so much! They scare me way more than they should and my partner has gotten used to me calling him over to “save” me from a spider at the most random times. Even though I know how important they are to have around I still don’t want them in my house. Unless they are cute and cuddly… like Charlotte!
Charlotte the spider isn’t scary — she’s sweet, whimsical, and soft. With eight squishy legs and big curious eyes, she’s the perfect little companion to brighten up your autumn décor. Whether she’s curled on a shelf, peeking out among pumpkins, or nestled in a fabric basket, Charlotte brings charm without spookiness.
Why You’ll Love This Pattern:
- Uses super bulky yarn — quick, soft, and oh-so-satisfying to crochet
- Beginner-friendly and no-sew with simple stitches and clear instructions
- Adorable Halloween décor or playful gift for kids
- Works up fast — perfect for last-minute makes or market prep
Construction: Charlotte is a no-sew amigurumi pattern. You will start by making Charlotte’s head and all eight individual legs before moving on to the body, For the body you will start by making the back before joining the head and legs as you go and finishing with the belly.

Skill level: This is an adventurous beginner pattern. If you know how to work a magic ring, increase and decrease, you will be able to make sweet Charlotte. The join as you go method used to secure the legs and head in place means no guesswork, only perfect placement every time!
Materials:
Hooks
Yarn
115 yards (105m / 157g) of Super Bulky/#6 weight chenille yarn such as Bernat Blanket yarn in colour Coal.

- Fiber fill stuffing
- Stitch marker(s)
- Scissors
- Darning needle
Not ready to crochet just yet? Pin it so you can come back to it later!

Gauge: Gauge isn’t all that important for this pattern, however, if you feel like your stitches aren’t tight enough, go down a hook size.
Final measurements: The finished spider measures roughly 8.5” long (from head to back of the body) by 9” wide (from tip of one leg to the tip of the other).
Notes:
- This pattern uses standard US crochet terms.
- This pattern is worked in the round continuously, do not chain at the beginning of each round.
- I recommend using a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.
- If you struggle matching up the stitches of the head and legs to join them in round 9 of the body, I suggest using stitch markers to match up the stitches two-by-two first before attempting to join them in the round.
- To get different sizes of Charlotte the spider, try using different weight chenille yarn and adjusting the hook accordingly.

Charlotte may be a spider, but there’s nothing spooky about her! Her whimsical design adds a dash of charm to your Halloween decorations and makes a great handmade gift for little ones.

Place her on your mantel, office desk, or among your pumpkins — she’s guaranteed to steal the spotlight (and maybe a few hearts).
